The Wild Depths of What There Is to Feel
Notice your physical body. Feel the ways gravity hugs those bones as you sit, the way your body’s skin recognizes shifts in pressure and temperature and touch, the way its muscles report movements, its nerves nag you about that spot where stress has settled in.
Now, notice your emotional body –like a map of experience & feeling overlaying your physical body in all dimensions. That tight spot, the one you noticed a moment ago, there’s a story there, a memory, something uncomfortable. You might find a concern clinging between your shoulder blades, a nervous laugh lining your ribs, an avoided truth nestled in your neck at the base of your skull. Consider, your hamstrings may be harboring tears you managed to secret away when you were six.
This body contains and explains you –your consciousness localized and lovingly woven into a marvelous mechanical historical record you get to pilot down the path of your life from beginning to end.
One day a Being sparked in this body, kindled, coalesced, grew, awoke, learned, became the You you know in this moment, right now.
Yet this body is not you. A Being came from somewhere else to become You. One day this body will stop. The You you know, so intimately intertwined with this flesh will loosen, the record will unravel, the bones will dry at the end of the path.
That’s okay. You will change form then, become something different, perhaps spark and kindle into another You you get to know, perhaps that You will remember this You, perhaps not.
There is an opportunity going on right now, right here where you are -the chance to feel in the way that only You do, to dive into the sea of human experiences, let its waters wash over you, to pump those legs and pull yourself into the wild depths of What There Is To Feel.
If you’re staying up on the surface, treading in the shallows, sitting on the shore, consider that this is Your Time, your chance. It won’t last.
That’s okay. That’s what makes it so precious. One day your body won’t feel anything anymore –no pain, joy, sadness, laughter, loss, cuts, caresses, kisses, crying, coldness, warmth, waking up with a lover, walking away from what you no longer need, learning something new, leaning into change, taking your chance, trusting that You can handle whatever it brings.
Consider that’s the whole point of why a Being became You. Say to yourself, “I am here to feel all this.”
I am here to feel all this.
I am here to feel all this.
