Nothing I say is true or false. It’s just stories. Stories are tools. The most useful question is not Is this true? It’s What am I using this for?
You are telling yourself the story of your life right now. How is it going? Are you languishing or growing? Are you walking a path toward something precious and profound, but keep dragging your feet? What if every obstacle in front of you was an opportunity to overcome, to integrate some fresh grandness, yet you stop yourself, you struggle and suffer because you believe it’s supposed to be that way. Maybe I deserve it. Maybe I’m just damaged or not made of the right stuff. Maybe my challenges are unique and unavoidable. Maybe it’s time to dig into the myths you are using to create your relationships with everything in your life.
What if your life story is a fable about persistence? What if your life story is a legend about a radical being who started out failing again and again, learning every time until you got what you really needed? What if your life story is a myth about humble beginnings and a rise to greatness—and you’re simply still in the humble part?
The core of Automythic Coaching is that your identity and your relationship with the world are automythic. Your stories about what happened, from last Tuesday all the way back to your childhood, are myths that you have unconsciously written. They affect the way you experience yourself, your body and mind, your family and social groups, your expectations, options, outcomes, and your entire future.
How do you use the myths of your own life to justify your constraints
or limit your vision of what is possible?
Together, we’ll elucidate your beliefs, concerns, hopes, habits, challenges, and breakdowns. We’ll use language, metaphor, allegories, archetypes, mindfulness, intuition, intention, declaration, and more. We’ll identify where your myths keep you from expanding. We’ll reconsider thoughts and perspectives, develop habits that rewire your neural firing patters, and transform your self-talk and the way you see the trials in front of you.
You will forge powerful new myths about Who You Are.
You will transition into a radical new part of your life story. You know, the part where you break the bonds of your past, expand your vision, develop potent new facets of your self, enrich your self-expression, and ultimately live your life with profound satisfaction and fulfillment.
Scott Michael Perrine Concinnity wants you to be well, to experience wonder, and to contribute your own self-expression toward the beauty of the universe.
Scott is a multi-talented musician, visual artist, writer, speaker, and life coach. He has been supporting people to express themselves, develop creative skills, and nurture their personal passions as a guitar, music theory, voice, and songwriting teacher and coach since 2003. He founded the band Letters from Traffic in 2006 for which he has written a whole catalog of songs and produced multiple albums.
He has performed for thousands of people, from grand and historic venues in the Pacific Northwest to private and intimate “storyteller” sets played solo or with simple accompaniment in the warmth of a living room with as little separation and as much interaction between himself and the audience as possible. He has a whole body of work exploring stories from Greek mythology and their relevance as meaningful mirrors in which to reflect our contemporary lives.
Scott is also a visual artist specializing in professional portraiture. You can see some of his work below and follow him on Instagram. He sees human consciousness as a tool for the universe to perceive, describe, and learn to love itself. Through art and other ways of being, he uses his consciousness to wash the universe in love and beauty.
